This talk will walk you through the concept of bandit models and how they can be used to provide a personalised solution to real-time content orchestration on the Tesco website. Starting with a brief introduction to Tesco and our Data Science team, we will then present the problem statement, introduce the concept of multi-arm and contextual bandits, provide some initial results and analysis, and conclude with a look at our ongoing work and future plans.

Chris is a Senior Data Scientist working in the Personalisation and Recommendations team at Tesco. Coming from a background in Physics, Chris joined Tesco though an internship programme as part of his MSc in Data Science and Machine Learning at UCL in 2022.
