As there are more regulations regarding AI and Data, OSI is leading a conversation regarding the definition of open source AI. In this unconference session, we will have a look at what has been in the discussion and how we can chim in for our opinions.
The Open Source Initiative has been working on the definition of open source AI, with working groups to analyse the components of the popular AI models: Llama2, Pythia, Bloom and OpenCV, a set of what components may be required to have open source licences to be considered as open source AI.
In this unconference, we will look at the discussion that has been carried out by OSI and continue our discussion. We will also look into possibilities of how to contribute to their definition of open source AI.

After having a career in Data Scientist and Developer Relations, Cheuk dedicated her work to the open-source community and founded CMD Limes, a Python consultants cooperation. She has also co-founded Humble Data, a beginner Python workshop that has been happening around the world. She has served the EuroPython Society board for two years and is now a fellow and director of the Python Software Foundation.
